State Of Decay- Tips To Help You’re Community, Base Building & Supply Runs.

Welcome to my first Tutorial on State Of Decay, In this video you’ll learn hints on Base Building, Supply Runs, Out posts while keeping you’re community safe from Zombies.

Base’s in State Of Decay-

Kirkman Residence –
Relocating Requiremen

8 Survivors
30 Building Materials

In contrast to the slightly isolated location of the Church of the Ascension, this homesite is surrounded by the main scavengeable locations of Spencer’s Mill. The location makes supply runs significantly faster and easier, while also increases the risk of horde attacks, requiring careful placement of outposts.

McReady Farmhouse –
Relocating requirements

8 Survivors
30 Building Materials

Due to its remote location, it is impossible to create a safe area with Outposts around the farmhouse. The only building next to it, a barn, might provide some level of protection, but is ineffective against more than one horde. As a result, survivors living here are constantly threatened by zombies spawning literally a few steps away from the home site. In addition, on occasions where multiple zombie hordes are spawned (“Too many hordes” event), player intervention is often required to clear hordes, otherwise they risk the chance of hordes attacking home or survivors go missing/get injured due to hordes. This makes it harder to concentrate on scavenging.

Regarding ease of traveling, going anywhere from the farmhouse requires driving, as there are very few scavenge spots near it. Another disadvantage is the scarcity of vehicles close to the homesite. Because of the surrounding area’s geography, durable vehicles with off-road capabilities such as the Modern Pickup or Old Pickup are recommended.

Savini Residence –
Relocating Requirements

8 Survivors
30 Building Materials

The homesite is located in west Marshall, near one of the two bridges leading to the East side. Notably, three sides of the walls are on steep banks which means the Savini Residence can only be attacked from the front.

Snyder Trucking Warehouse –
Relocating Requirements

12 Survivors
50 Building Materials

Snyder Trucking is in a rather vulnerable position. Situated in west Marshall and near several large buildings, the Warehouse is very close to spawn points for normal zombies, Infestations, Freaks and hordes. While the fences will slow down zombies, it will not stop them. Additionally, STW does not come with a built-in Watch Tower, which might make it difficult to defend at first.

A transformer farm and utility warehouse are sited downhill, behind this homesite. A path links the river that runs north of Marshall to this utility warehouse, which means that any zombies prowling the river can sneak up on STW from behind. Juggernaut zombies are an occasional threat due to this access point. This utility warehouse can also become infested occasionally.

Trumbull County Fairgrounds –
Relocation Requirements

12 Survivors
50 Building Materials

The Fairgrounds comes with only 1 interior facility slot, but does not have a built-in Bedroom or Medical Area. The player will have to make a choice of which facility to build in this slot to protect the vulnerable survivors.
While TCF and Snyder Trucking Warehouse have the same the total number of facilities (9), one of TCF’s facility slots is occupied by the Dining Area, a facility with questionable usefulness, and its pre-built Watch Tower cannot be upgraded to Shooting Platform for a steady income of Ammunition. These shortcomings, in addition to a rather difficult to access parking area and remote location, make this homesite more challenging than STW.
